Each mic input has its own mix level controls. The MX-100 provides a simple and economical way to make live recordings with tape decks which do not have microphone inputs (e.g., the Nakamichi 600 Cassette Console). The output of the MX-100 can be connected to the line inputs of most tape decks. It can also be connected directly to the auxiliary inputs of a preamplifier/amplifier for public address applications. On decks that provide mic/line mixing, the MX-100 can be utilized to increase the number of microphone inputs; with the Nakamichi 1000, 700 and 500 decks, for example, the MX-100 can be connected to the line inputs to provide a total of 6 microphone inputs. A built in muting circuit eliminates turn on thumps.
