Electronic Crossover
Serious audiophiles have for many years chosen multi amplification of their loudspeaker systems (i.e., driving individual loudspeaker elements with separate power amplifiers) in order to further improve the quality of sound reproduction.
The EC-100 Electronic Crossover provides a simple, and low cost method for multi amplification of loudspeakers. One EC-100 can be inserted between a preamplifier and two stereo power amplifiers to provide bi amplification. Tri amplification and even more sophisticated systems are possible with the multiple use of EC-100's. The EC-100 features simplified crossover frequency selection and individual level controls for the divided channels. Crossover takes place with 12 dB/octave slopes, and compensation circuitry ensures high phase linearity at the selected crossover frequency. A muting circuit is incorporated to eliminate turn on thumps.
