Nakamichi 700

3 Head Cassette System

Nakamichi 700 Tri-Tracer

The same perfectionist's approach that created the Nakamichi 1000 has now been applied to the design of another high performance machine, the Nakamichi 700 Tri-Tracer.

The 700 offers the essential performance of our highly acclaimed Model 1000, but at a more modest cost. Most of the features, as well as the reliability and ease of operation that characterize the 1000 have been retained in the 700. The same brilliantly engineered tape transport with IC logic and feathertouch solenoids controls tape motion. The same three head configuration separate erase, record and playback heads provide off-the-tape monitoring and insure extended high frequency response. The similarity does not end there, the Nakamichi 700 also features the ingenious record head azimuth alignment beacon, Dolby noise reduction circuits with separate electronics for record and playback and all of the inputs and outputs that make the 1000 such a versatile machine. In fact, the performance of the Nakamichi 700 is so awesome that it prompted Julian Hirsch writing in the December 1973 issue of Stereo Review to say, "We would rank it (the Nakamichi 700) as the best cassette recorder we've tested and one of the best tape recorders we have ever used".
